Plotbloop ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Plotbloop mobile application (the "App"), a collaborative storytelling platform designed for children and families.
We take children's privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you and your child use our App. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable privacy laws.

- Children under 13 cannot use Plotbloop without a parent account
- Parents control all child profiles and can delete data at any time
- We use AI to help create stories, but we do not sell personal information
- Stories are private by default and only shared with explicit parent approval

Parent Account Information
- Email address (for login and account recovery)
- Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)
Child Profile Information
- Display name (can be a nickname or first name only)
- Age range selection (4-7, 8-12, or 13+)
Story Content
- Story choices and responses made during play
- AI-generated story text and illustrations
- Completed stories saved to the account
Automatically Collected
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Error logs for troubleshooting (no personal content)
Information We Do NOT Collect
- Real names (nicknames are fine)
- Photos or videos
- Location data
- Contacts or address book
- Data from other apps
- Advertising identifiers
How We Use Information
To Provide the Service
- Create and manage parent accounts
- Maintain child profiles under parent supervision
- Generate personalized stories using AI based on the child's choices
- Create illustrations that match the story content
- Save completed stories for later reading
To Improve Safety
- Apply age-appropriate content filters
- Monitor AI outputs for inappropriate content
- Enforce our safety guidelines
To Maintain the App
- Fix bugs and technical issues
- Improve app performance
- Send important account notifications (password resets, security alerts)
We Do NOT
- Use children's information for advertising
- Build marketing profiles on children

- Sell or rent any personal information to third parties

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Plotbloop is designed for children but requires parental involvement:
- Children under 13 cannot create their own accounts
- A parent must create an account and add child profiles
- The parent's account creation serves as verifiable parental consent
- All child activity occurs under the parent's account supervision
Parental Rights
As a parent, you have the right to:
- Review your child's information at any time within the app
- Delete any child profile and all associated stories
- Refuse further collection by deleting the child's profile
- Request a copy of your child's data by emailing us
- Withdraw consent by deleting your account entirely
How to Exercise These Rights
- In the app: Go to Settings → Player Profiles → Delete Profile
- Delete account: Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Email us: blanc.mode.nyc@gmail.com (we respond within 48 hours)
We will never require a child to provide more information than necessary to participate in the storytelling experience.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the App:

Important Notes on AI
- Story prompts sent to Google Gemini do not include the child's name or identifying information
- We use Google's API services, which have their own data handling policies
- We do not use personal data to train AI models
Story Sharing
- Completed stories are private by default
- Parents can generate a share link for individual stories
- Shared stories display only the story content—no account or child information
- Share links can be revoked at any time
Data Security
We protect your information using:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmission
- Encrypted password storage (passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text)
- Secure cloud infrastructure with access controls
- Regular security updates and monitoring
While we use industry-standard protections, no system is 100% secure. We encourage parents to use strong, unique passwords.
Data Retention
- Active accounts: Data is kept as long as your account is active
- Deleted child profiles: Story data is permanently deleted immediately
- Deleted accounts: All data is permanently deleted within 30 days
- Error logs: Automatically deleted after 90 days
Account Deletion
When you delete your account:
- All child profiles are deleted
- All stories and illustrations are deleted
- Your email and account data are deleted
- This action is permanent and cannot be undone
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
- For material changes affecting children's data, we will notify parents via email
- Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance
